NOTATION, Lead Sheet 2 [HOME]

In this follow-up lead sheet YOU will choose a pop, jazz, or Broadway "standard" tune to typeset.

1. Peruse "standards" from either an online "fakebook" such as Official Red Book Jazz Fakebook, or The Real (Vocal) Book, OR...
from a physical "fakebook" you provide.

2. Choose one that is approximately at least 17+ measures long and has a 1st and 2nd ending. Show this to your instructor for approval. Choose a tune you like or find interesting. In a follow-up project you MAY be asked to produce the song using a DAW. There is some flexibility in the criteria, but you MUST have your instructor approve your choice of the tune FIRST.
3. Once approved, print it out.
4. Use Noteflight.com or Finale to typeset the standard tune as a lead sheet, and post a link to your page of the wiki.
5. Link your Noteflight score to your area of the WIKI. If you used Finale, save as PDF and post to your page of the WIKI.

You will receive 50 points for producing a clean-looking, accurate lead sheet with melody and chord symbols (lyrics not necessary). Deductions will be given for inaccuracies in notes, rhythms, formatting, layout (i.e. collisions), omissions, etc.
